Tips

The Camp Esquagama Staff looks forward to your visit to the shores of beautiful Lake Esquagama. The following tips will give campers an idea of how best to reserve the camp session of their choice and what to bring with them for their stay:

  1. Return your application blank immediately. Your registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. To avoid registration delays, be sure to complete the application and health form in full.

  2. Bring appropriate camp bedding, sleeping bag or sheets, blanket & pillow. Remember, some nights are cold and cabins are not heated.

  3. Bring several towels, a washcloth, soap, toothbrush and other personal care items.

  4. Bring appropriate camp clothing. Clothes for warm and cool weather, along with rain gear, are important. Don't forget your swimsuit!

  5. Do not bring gum, candy, pop, chips or any food items to camp. The canteen is open daily.

  6. Do not bring any I-pods, MP3 players, radios, walkmans, game boys, cell phones or any other valuable items that could be damaged, lost or stolen.

  7. All canteen money (suggested amount $20) cash/check only must be turned in to the camp bank when registering. No other money should be brought to camp. Any remaining money will be returned at end of week.

  8. Camp Esquagama is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

  9. We encourage campers and their families to correspond by letter. Families may tour the camp only on the first or last day of their child's session. Visits during the week are discouraged.

  10. Camp Esquagama reserves the right to send a camper home at his/her parent's expense. Total camp fee is not refundable once registration has taken place. Campers may be charged for damages to camp or personal property for which they are responsible.

  11. Campers and parents or guardians should arrive at camp no earlier than 9:30 a.m. and no later than 12:00 noon of the opening day of their session. All campers should enter the main lodge upon arrival to camp, where registration takes place.

  12. On Fridays, Camp Esquagama has an awards program to which parents and friends are invited. The program begins at 1:30 p.m.
